Description
Seymour High School Girl Drummers are shown here. In the picture, from left to right, are May Dell Smith, Betty Ann Jones, Opal Bagby, Jimmye Lee Guthrie, Charlyne Palmer and Don Taylor, director. The girls are wearing marching band uniforms, complete with hats and holding drums and cymbals. The girl drummers accompanied the entire band to Waco last week for the state contests. The 45-piece band, which won first in marching and second in music at the contest in Abilene, will play this summer for the Seymour Rodeo and Cowboy Reunion. Published in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram morning edition, May 17, 1941.
