Description
Starting at front row, left to right: Mrs. G. E. Harlan, Mrs. J. L. Weatherford, Mrs. W. M. Jackson, Mrs. L. A. Pearce, Mrs. Carrie Hollar, Mrs. A. J. Cantrell, Mrs. H. Lanham and Mrs. Charles Nunnally. The women are sitting in a large carriage that has a sign on the side that reads, "Belles of 1891." The carriage is made up of four large, wooden wheels and a long sitting area. Each of the women are wearing large coats, a variety of hats, long skirts or dresses. Behind them another carriage can be seen close by. The carriage was part of a larger parade that rode through the city during the Borden County 50th anniversary celebration. The theme of the parade was "the 1890's," when Borden County was founded.
