Description
Mrs. W. A. Hurt found a 120-year-old, hand-made valentine among her family keepsakes. The valentine was sent by Mrs. Hurt's great-grandfather in 1820 to the woman who became Mrs. Hurt's great-great-grandmother. Mrs. Hurt is holding the valentine, a white, rounded sheet of paper that has been scalloped and decorated with perforations. The valentine also includes a 13-verse poem. Mrs. Hurt is wearing a hat and a floral dress.
