    Sam Salerno, of the Peter Brothers Incorporated repair shop, putting a sole on a shoe. He is surrounded by stacks of shoes. He is wearing a coat, shirt and trousers and is holding a hammer. Army shoes from Camp Bowie, Fort Sill and 27 Civilian Conservation Corps camps are being repaired at a rate of 1,500 pairs a day. Published in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram evening edition, January 31, 1941.
