Description
Captain J. B. Calder, right, inspects the uniform of Lieutenant Fred A. Lewis, a member of the Home Defense Guard of Blackstone Post. Captain Calder is also wearing a military uniform as well as eyeglasses. He is grabbing one of the shirt pockets of Lewis's uniform. The Home Guard uniforms were issued at Pioneer Palace when three officers and 66 men were commissioned for duty.
