Description

A tragic drama of runaway marriage ended with the groom's death on Friday, January 10th. Virginia Ruth Brewer Cox, fourteen, married nineteen year old H. G. Cox in Fort Worth, Texas Monday night. The bride's parents, Mr. and Mrs. E. T. Brewer, learned of the marriage by postcard, and immediately drove to the city. A scuffle broke out between Mr. Brewer and Mr. Cox and the father stabbed the groom in the throat with a pocket knife. The Brewer Murder Trial is being held in Tarrant County, Texas. Oscar Martin, center, is the twenty-one year old friend of the victim. He has his arms around the shoulders of two other friends and is dressed in a double breasted pinstripe suit.
