Description

Amateur boxers are training in preparation for the Golden Gloves District Tournament. Woodie Taylor's final pre-Gloves show is being held at the Recreation Building. Competing in the ring, left to right, are Buddy Shumway and Bill Anderson. Anderson, of Fort Worth, Texas, is smashing his opponent's nose with a short, powerful uppercut. Shumway, of Dallas, Texas, is applying a left jab to Anderson's ear. The referee is watching the action at the far right. Spectators are sitting below the platform, watching the close fight. In the end, Anderson won the decision.
