Charles Jerome is an engineer with the Texas and Pacific (T. & P.) Railroad. He has been an employee of the railroad for 41 years. On Tuesday afternoon, he switched his engine into the T. & P. Station for the last time. His friends and family were there to greet him when he finished the last run. The 65-year-old is looking forward to a well earned retirement. He is shown waving from the window of car 468. He is dressed in a cap, button-up shirt, overalls, and gloves.
