Description
Fort Worth soldiers of the One Hundred Eleventh Medical Regiment leaving for Camp Bowie at Brownwood, Texas are (left to right) Sergeant D. Stockton, Private R. C. Johnson, Sergeant W. E. Matthews, Private W. J. Harding and Sergeant W. C. Groom. After a long wait, these five men of Company D, the ambulance company, are leaving for Camp Bowie, eager for a year's active training. The men are in uniform carrying equipment and duffle bags out of the barracks. Published in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram morning edition, December 28, 1940.
