Description
Gee, the Christmas mail and packages will burden Santa's Sleigh this year. A sample of the daily picture at the Texas & Pacific Railroad terminal here--where Christmas business is the heaviest in years. Lines of package-laden trucks are moved in and out of the terminal every few minutes. Fort Worth is Texas' main mail distribution point and mail handling agencies report business far ahead of last year. The Railway Mail Service estimates 25 percent heavier volume than ever before and Railway Express Agency says its business is up 14 percent over last December, which was the best in years. A long line of carts are shown filled with packages inside a large building. Published in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram Morning Edition December 23 1940.
