After winning his first bid to the Texas Legislature, Gene Worley (center) is awaiting the day he is sworn in as a congressman. He is pictured with his mother, Mrs. Fred Oliver (left), his wife (right), and his bulldog "Prop." Mrs. Oliver directed her son's campaign and aided in his race for the House seat. She is wearing a dark dress and a necklace. Mr. Worley grew up in Shamrock, Texas, in the Panhandle. He is a big fan of football. He is dressed in a three-piece suit. Mrs. Worley is the former Miss Ann Spivy. She is wearing a velvet blazer and a skirt.
