Description

The Stephenville High School football team is playing on the road against Temple High School in the bi-district tournament. Temple had their hands full trying to stop Stephenville's Barney Welch, one of the top tailbacks in the state. Welch, 61, is on his way to a 95-yard touchdown when the photograph was snapped. He is shown at midfield, eluding the last Temple Tackler. Despite the long score and tough running, Temple won the contest.
