Abilene business men subscribed $125,000 to lease the property for Army training camp at View, Texas, and make it available to the Government. Shown here are Don Wallace, assistant manager and industrial director of the Abilene Chamber of Commerce, and Ed Stewart. They are active in making Abilene arrangements for the army training camp at View. Mr. Wallace and Mr. Stewart are both wearing suits and ties and sitting at a desk with a number of papers on it. Mr. Wallace is holding a phone to his ear and Mr. Stewart is using a typewriter. Published in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram morning edition, December 7, 1940.
