Description
A $700,000 pilot training center is being built and nearing completion in San Angelo, Texas. The contractors and engineers are setting a fast pace to finish the construction. An aerial view shows the seventy-eight buildings comprising the camp in one area of the 640-acre tract. The 100 plane hangar will be constructed on the rectangular plot between the first and second control towers. The hospital and recreation buildings are at the far end of the group. The two story structures will be used as barracks. The business district of San Angelo is northwest of the air base. Published in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, December 29, 1940.
