City and County officials and representatives of the Chamber of Commerce and other civic organizations watching the patrol bomber seaplane from the shore, northwest end of Lake Worth when the 14-ton patrol bomber seaplane landed. The huge plane is the first of 250 of this type to be delivered to Britain by Consolidated Aircraft Corporation in San Diego to New York as the United States' aid to embattled Britain. While fuel was being pumped into its tanks, the crew of seven greeted a group of Chamber of Commerce and city official. Left to right, H. S. Foster, manager of the Chamber's industrial department; First Lieutenant Douglas T. Kelley, U. S. Air Corps; Russ Rogers operations manager for Consolidated; Lieutenant W. L. Cleveland, U. S. Navy, the pilot; D. L. Johnson, chairman of Chamber's aviation committee; Captain I. G. Ross of Canadian-Pacific Air-ways, and D. E. Harris, the flying boat's radio operation.
