The Texas League Baseball Officials are responsible for the high standard of baseball in the league. Bruce Layer, left, and Fred Ankenman, right, are two of the league officials. Mr. Layer is a Houston Post Sports editor. He is dressed in a three piece, double breasted suit. Fred Ankenman is the president of the Houston Buffaloes, the minor league affiliate to the St. Louis Cardinals. He is wearing a three piece suit. Published in The Fort Worth Star-Telegram Sunday Edition January 21, 1940.
