Description
Texas Christian University (TCU) vs. Baylor University football game. Texas Christian University pulled off a unique play. The ball went to Frank Kring, he faked a hand-off to Kyle Gillespie who then veered off into the flats to his right. Kring then forward passed it to Connie Sparks on the right side of the field who lateraled it to Gillespie who took it up the right sideline for a touchdown. All of the players on the field are visible in this shot, along with two referees, all of whom are wearing their respective uniforms. Gillespie can be seen near the far sideline carrying the ball 12 yards away from the end zone with an opponent chasing close behind. At the bottom and top of the picture, spectators can be seen in the stands. Star-Telegram Morning, November 3 1940.
