Description
The six men present in the picture are from Tarrant County and they all volunteered to be drafted. The six are Riverside High School buddies and appeared en masse at the Draft Board 4 office Thursday. Here, they are getting a welcome from W. O. DeWees the board clerck. From left to right, Sam Marlin, Tom Winders, Elmo Lawson, John McClain, Bill Roberts, and Lloyd Blevins. The men are standing in line with Mr. Marlin shaking hands with Mr. DeWees. Published in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram morning edition, November 1, 1940.
