Description

Don Wesley Wynne, is the son of a North Side pharmacist who also is chairman of the Selective Service Advisory Board for Area No. 5. Mr. Wynne is shown receiving from Clerk Arch Parnum a draft questionnaire after he had signed up as Tarrant County's first registrant volunteer. Given Order No. 5310 in the national lottery, Area No. 5 officials estimated it would be more that a year before he would be drafted, so he is taking the short route. Mr. Wynne is wearing a stripped collared shirt, pants, and a stripped tie. Mr. Parnum is seated at his desk wearing a stripped collared shirt and there is an American flag hanging on the wall. Published in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram evening edition, October 31, 1940.
