Personalities in the local draft news Tuesday because theirs were among the first numbers drawn from the historic goldfish bowl in Washington, D.C. Among the Tarrant County men whose number was called in the draft is Vaughn Billie Pigg shown with his two children, Vaughn Junior and Nedra Jean. Mr. Pigg took Tuesday afternoon off to explain selective service program to his children. He was no. 25 draft pick in Area 5. He is wearing a long sleeve buttoned up shirt and pants, his daughter Nedra is wearing a collared dress and his son Vaughn Jr is wearing a collared shirt. Both children are looking at his father and are smiling; they are seating in their front porch. Published in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram morning edition, October 30, 1940.
