Personalities in the local draft news Tuesday because theirs were among the first numbers drawn from the historic goldfish bowl in Washington, D.C. Tarrant County men whose numbers were called in the draft shown here in the picture are, Sam Joyl Jones (left) was the first Area 2 whose number was drawn and Tomas David Jones (right), was the second. Though no kin at all, they have the same name, come from the same town in Oklahoma, work for the same company and were transferred to Fort Worth the same day. Mr. Jones is wearing a a coverall and Mr. David Jones is carrying a rivet gun. Published in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram morning edition, October 30, 1940.
