Description
Caught in Trap Laid by Police -- Jack Stafford, 63-year-old robber, right, with George Harrison, city jail turnkey. Mr. Stafford was arrested by city detectives after he held up a taxicab driver in Haltom City, Texas. He began committing a string of crimes on Christmas Day, 1939, in Austin, Texas, and continued through San Antonio, Waco, and Dallas. Mr. Harrison is wearing his police uniform and eyeglasses and Mr. Stafford is wearing a shirt, trousers and coat. Published in The Fort Worth Star-Telegram morning edition, January 19, 1940.
