Description
The Saddle and Sirloin Club of Texas Agricultural and Mechanical (A&M) College sponsors each year a rodeo with competition limited to students of the institution. Shown here are Mollie Mckellar of San Antonio, Texas, queen of the 1940 rodeo, and President Graham Purcell. They are both wearing long pants, long-sleeved shirts, boots, and cowboy hats and are both mounted on horses that are standing beside each other. They are standing in the middle of a gravel street with a row of buildings behind them. Star-Telegram Morning, October 22 1940.
