Description
Herchel Young is a golf caddy at the Colonial Country Club. He is better known at the Club as "Snork the Caddy". Mr. Young sent a letter to golfer Sammy Snead, asking to be his caddy for the 1941 National Open. Mr. Snead is the favorite to win the tournament, which is being held at the Colonial. Mr. Young is holding the answer, a contract written in Mr. Snead's careful script. Mr. Young is standing against a wall, dressed in a button-up shirt and a sweater vest. Published in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram morning edition, October 8, 1940.
