Description
Texas National Guard maneuvers in Louisiana. When Battery F, One Hundred and Thirty-first Field Artillery, Texas National Guard, received the commander's order to open fire at range practice. Here, Second Lieutenant J. E. Garrison, at the field telephone, receives the range data and passes it on to his gun crews. His aids are, left to right, Private John C. Hensley, Corporal Leon Sparkman, and Private Sherrill. Each of the aids is from Jacksboro, Texas, seen sitting on blankets in the grass.
