Description
Texas Christian University (TCU) vs. Centenary College football game. Beecher Montgomery, Texas Christian University, with the ball, running in the open field. Most of the players on the field are visible in this shot, along with four referees; everyone is wearing their respective uniforms. Montgomery is in the center of the picture running behind his teammate, Charley Conway. Two Centenary defenders, May, bottom, and McCrary are very close behind Montgomery and chasing after him. The entire Centenary bench players and coaches can be seen at the top of the picture while many of the Texas Christian University bench players and coaches can be seen at the bottom of the picture. Conway blocked these Centenary players a moment after this picture was taken and Montgomery would score on this play. Star-Telegram Morning, September 29 1940.
