Description

The Fort Worth Open golf tournament is being held at the Glen Garden Country Club in Fort Worth, Texas. Participating in the tournament, left to right, are Jim Ferrier and Frank Stranahan. Ferrier is a professional golfer from Australia. He became an American citizen in 1941 and served in the United States Army. He is dressed in a collared shirt, sports coat, and trousers. Stranahan is an amateur golfer from Toledo, Ohio. He is mentored by Byron Nelson. Known on the links as the "Toledo Strongman", Stranahan is tough competitor despite his amateur status. He is shown taking a practice swing prior to the tournament. He is dressed in a short-sleeve shirt and trousers. Stranahan went on to win the Fort Worth Open. Ferrier was the runner-up.
