Description
A twice-wounded veteran of the European campaign, First Lieutenant Ralph R. Sheets, arrived in Fort Worth recently and is spending a 30-day leave at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Paul F. Watson. He was Platoon leader in a 3rd Army chemical mortar battalion. He was award the Purple Heart with cluster and also the Bronze Star. Sheets is a nephew of Miss Betty Foster, was graduated from Big Spring High School and was in his senior year at Texas A&M when the class was inducted. He was working on a degree in chemical engineering. He is in his uniform and standing in front of a plain wall. Published in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram evening edition, July 30, 1945.
