Clipping: "Four Students Given Medals. American Legion citizenship medals have been presented to four students of Ernest Parker and E. M. Daggett Junior High Schools in programs at the respective schools. District Attorney Al Clyde, representative of the Business and Professional Men's Post No. 14, made the awards to the Ernest Park seniors, Barbara Thorpe, daughter of Mrs. Flora Jones, 1413 St. Louis, and Duane Fincher, son of Mrs. Juanita Jones, 611 W. 4th. V.C. Johnson of the Railway Mail Service Post presented medals to Margaret Welch, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Welch, 2818 5th Ave., and Patric Shannon, son of Mr. and Mrs. J. P. Shannon, 2233 Fairmount, students of E. M. Daggett." Published Star-Telegram Eve. May 22, 1945. Left to right: Patrick Shannon, Margaret Welch and Diane Sweatman. Patrick is dressed a light short-sleeve shirt tucked into trousers and is wearing a ring and has a mechanical pencil in his shirt pocket. Margaret is wearing a two-piece dark short-sleeved dress with light contrast piping. The top is short sleeved and buttons in front, the skirt is gathered at the waist, and the piping is around the sleeves, waist, and pockets on the skirt. Diane is sporting a striped dress that has an eyelet yoke and sleeves and is trimmed with ruffles along the yoke and short sleeves. She is wearing a ring and a bracelet.
