    Clipping: "Four Students Given Medals. American Legion citizenship medals have been presented to four students of Ernest Parker and E. M. Daggett Junior High Schools in programs at the respective schools. District Attorney Al Clyde, representative of the Business and Professional Men's Post No. 14, made the awards to the Ernest Park seniors, Barbara Thorpe, daughter of Mrs. Flora Jones, 1413 St. Louis, and Duane Fincher, son of Mrs. Juanita Jones, 611 W. 4th. V.C. Johnson of the Railway Mail Service Post presented medals to Margaret Welch, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Welch, 2818 5th Ave., and Patric Shannon, son of Mr. and Mrs. J. P. Shannon, 2233 Fairmount, students of E. M. Daggett." Published Star-Telegram Eve. May 22, 1945. Left to right: Barbara Thorpe and Duane Fincher. Barbara is dressed in a short sleeved blouse with inset lace around the neck, sleeves, and down the front of the bodice, a full skirt that buttons in front, a booster pin, and hair ribbon. Duane is wearing a houndstooth patterned button-up shirt and eyeglasses.
