Description
North Texas Agricultural College (NTAC) students are doing their part in the war effort. In the plane repair shop are F. H. Wilson, left and Weldon Dooley. They are dressed in t-shirts and trousers as they work on the propeller of a plane. NTAC turns out engineers, aircraft workers, naval apprentice seaman, and dozens of other trainees at a rapid clip. In the 1920s Dean E. E. Davis recognized the ever increasing role airplanes would play and installed various aeronautical courses in the aeronautics/engineering department. Due to the foresight of Dean Davis, NTAC required no war time conversion and was already prepared with necessary courses, equipment, and projects. North Texas Agricultural College was later renamed The University of Texas at Arlington.
