Description
Carolyn and Nancy Neighbors (center), looking at Nan Vineyard of Fort Smith, Arkansas (left) and Jean Burtis of Madisonville, Arkansas (right). The children are daughters of Dr. and Mrs. Dewitt Neighbors. The two sisters are shown standing between the two play characters "Lovely Lysa" and "The Steadfast Tin Soldier" who are smiling widely. Both are in costume; Miss Vineyard is wearing a shiny dress that has many ruffles and Miss Burtis is wearing a tall hat with a shiny soldier's uniform. Both also have makeup on their faces. The sisters are wearing matching dress and appear entranced with the play characters, looking at them happily. Behind the group is a set and two other smaller, unnamed girls looking on. Published in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram morning edition, November 21, 1942.
