    Description

Artist Emily Guthrie Smith is shown drawing a likeness of student Doris Sheppard at a Junior League art education program. Doris is shown sitting on a wooden bench across from Miss Smith as she draws her. Doris is wearing a gingham-printed dress with some lace detailing on her collar, while Miss Smith wears a jacket and skirt ensemble. As she works, Miss Smith holds a rag and a pastel crayon in her right hand while she uses another pastel to complete Doris's portrait. Miss Smith is a child portrait painter. Behind the two is a curtain. Published in The Fort Worth Star-Telegram Sunday Edition March 8, 1942.
