Description

The grand champion lamb of the recent State Fair of Texas at Dallas and its feeder and breeder are pictured here. At the left is John Nehrmeyer, breeder of Southdown sheep at Rhome, Texas, who bred the grand champion, and at the right is Alfred Pool, 4-H Club boy of Nolan County, Texas. Both men are wearing shirts and trousers and cowboy hats. The lamb has the winner's ribbon on it and sold through the auction ring at $1.25 a pound. Published in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram morning edition, October 21, 1941.
