Description

Kyle Gillespie, halfback on the Texas Christian University football team, is waving goodbye to his teammates, as they leave for New York to take on the Fordham Rams. Consoling him in his misery are Lois Meador, left, and Julia Mayo. Gillespie suffered an ankle fracture and will miss some time while the injury heals. He is dressed in a button-up shirt and trousers, and is walking with crutches. Miss Meador is wearing a collared blouse, sweater, and a plaid skirt. Miss Mayo is dressed in a knit sweater, pearl necklace and a skirt. Published in The Fort Worth Star-Telegram morning edition, October 23, 1941
