Description
Lieutenant Colonel ((LIEUT. COL.)Thomas R. Kerschner, left, Third Army Assistant G-3 and executive director of the maneuvers, visited Major General (Maj. Gen.) George V. Strong at the latter's VIII Army Corps command post in the field. His command post (CP) was bombed in a Red air raid. The Blues later captured enemy planes that led them to believe they were confronted with a five-division force. Both men are shown standing outside, facing each other and engaged in conversation. Lieutenant Colonel Kerschner is standing with his arms folded and looking off into the distanced. He is wearing a raincoat and a hat. Major General Strong is wearing his uniform. His hands are resting on his waists. Published in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram morning edition, June 15, 1941.
