Description
The scout car of the 113th Cavalry's mechanized unit, while on a reconnaissance mission during a VIII Army Corps military training exercise at Camp Bowie. The car had just emerged from a hail of artillery fire. Second Lieutenant Paul A. Johnson is standing by the machine gun equipped car. He is wearing his military uniform and sunglasses. The soldiers sitting in the car are unidentified. The 113th is an Iowa National Guard regiment attached to the VIII Army Corps.
