Three Army officers of the Headquarters Battery, First Battalion, One Hundred and Thirty-first Artillery, Abilene, Texas, are pictured here. They are, from left to right, Second Lieutenant (Lieut.) V. P. Hines, Captain (Capt.) Frank J. Hahns and Second Lieutenant (Lieut.) R. W. Elliott. They are shown seated at a desk and looking some papers to check over the day's schedule for the battery. All are wearing uniforms. Published in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram morning edition, December 4, 1940.
