Army Major General (Maj. Gen.) Claude V. (C. V.) Birkhead, commanding officer of the Thirty-sixth division, is shown standing behind a line of enlisted men and listening attentively while a company of the One Hundred Eleventh Medical Regiment received instructions at a field drill. Standing behind him is Major (Maj.) C. B. Brewster of the headquarters staff of the Medical Regiment. The group standing the informal inspection are members of the ambulance company, and they are learning how to care for wounded men on the battle field. Everyone in this picture are wearing uniforms and hats. All are standing in a field. Published in the Fort Wroth Star-Telegram morning edition, December 10, 1940.
