Retired Army Captain (Capt.) Charles W. Monroe, left, is greeting Major (Maj.) Dan H. Loving of Amarillo, Texas. Captain (Capt.) Monroe organized the medical detachment of One Hundred Forty-second Infantry at Electra 11 years ago and commanded it until his retirement November 26. He is dressed in suits and tie. Major (Maj.) Loving is the regimental surgeon of headquarters staff. He is dressed in uniform. Published in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram morning edition, December 8, 1940.
