Description
Joe D. Johnson of Fort Worth is developing a remarkable ranch property on 3,000 acres of the Northeast Texas land utilization project north of Bonham in Fannin County on which he has a grazing permit from the United States Government through the Soil Conservation Service which is operating the project. Shown here is "Susue," one of Joe D. Johnson's prize winning colts, held by Joaquin Barrietes, one of Johnson's employees. Barrietes is holding Susue from the halter rope; he is wearing a collared shirt, pants, and a hat. Susue appears to have a white birthmark in her forehead. Published in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram morning edition, October 29, 1940.
