Description

Joe D. Johnson of Fort Worth is developing a remarkable ranch property on 3,000 acres of the Northeast Texas land utilization project north of Bonham in Fannin County on which he has a grazing permit from the United States Government through the Soil Conservation Service which is operating the project. Shown here is "Lady," Mrs. Joe D. Johnson favorite mount, held by Erwin E. Smith at the halter. Smith is looking after the Johnson ranching interests in the Bonham area. Mr. Smith is petting Lady; he is wearing a collared shirt, a tie, pants, and a hat. In the background is the pond. Published in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram morning edition, October 29, 1940.
