Description

In a ceremony at Paschal High School, 114 chief registrars of Tarrant County took the oath of office. Mrs. Happy Shelton, a Tarrant County clerk, is shown at the microphone. She is explaining to the registrars one of the printed forms that will be used for men between the ages of 21 and 35, to enroll for military service. As a county clerk, Mrs. Shelton is in charge of setting up the registration machinery. She is wearing a hat, dress, and a necklace. Published in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram morning edition, October 11, 1940.
