Description
And Mason County Wins -- Again! -- Mason County again won a 4-H Club baby beef championship when Fayfield Kothman showed the winning calf at the Texas State Fair at Dallas this week. Colonel Frank Holland, chairman of the livestock committee of the fair and long a booster for 4-H Club and Future Farmer work, is seen back of the winning steer just after he congratulated the Mason County boy upon his success in feeding the champion. Fayfield (right) and his prize winning baby beef, Colonel Holland (second from right) and three unidentified men are pictured here. Colonel Holland is dressed in a cowboy hat and a suit. Fayfield is wearing a cowboy hat, button-up shirt and trousers. Published in The Fort Worth Star-Telegram morning edition, October 10, 1940.
