Description
Texas Boys and Their Baby Beeves at the Texas State Fair -- Texas 4-H Club boys and members of the Future Farmers of America showed baby beeves at the State Fair of Texas junior livestock show this week that made competition hard in the junior classes and not easy in the open classes. Here is one of the good calves that demonstrates the boys' ability to feed cattle properly. Three San Antonio 4-H Club boys are pictured here with a mighty good calf that was brought to the Dallas show from San Antonio. Three boys are, left to right, Jack Crea and David Straus, who also showed calves at Dallas, and Johnny Hoffman, who fed this calf. Jack is wearing a button-up shirt with cuffed sleeves and trousers. David is dressed in a cowboy hat, collared shirt with rolled sleeves, and trousers. Johnny is wearing a cowboy hat, dress shirt, and trousers. Automobiles are parked in the background. Published in The Fort Worth Star-Telegram morning edition, October 13, 1940.
