The Slaton, Texas, rodeo was held June 28 and 29, 1940. Among those who attended the rodeo were, left to right, Lilyan Bickerstaff, of Sweetwater, Texas, Wanda Fae Wyatt, of Fort Worth, Texas, Maxine Edom, of Slaton, Texas, Mildred Coleman, of Fort Worth, Texas, and Mary Helen Stuart, also of Fort Worth, Texas. Miss Bickerstaff is wearing a short-sleeve, collared blouse and trousers. Miss Wyatt is wearing a short-sleeve, collared blouse, a vest and a skirt. Miss Edom is wearing a short-sleeve, collared blouse, a skirt and a cowboy hat. Miss Coleman and Miss Stuart are wearing long-sleeve blouses, trousers and cowboy hats.
