Description

Razing of Burrus Mills. Concrete and brick grain elevators being knocked down next to a brick warehouse or office building also being knocked down. The rebar reinforcement in the exposed edges of concrete is sticking out. The very upper level of the elevator building appears to be plywood or construction sheeting with small indentation showing where all of the nails or screws are that hold it onto the superstructure inside. On the lower and right parts of the scene a few men on the ground can be seen standing. There appear to be stacks of bricks in front of the warehouse/office building. In the foreground on the left is a crane with steel cables supporting the arm and with cables extending up to the horizontal section that is in motion, dust in view as it shifts to fall. Burrus Mill and Elevator Company was the maker of Light Crust Flour and the sponsor of the radio program that featured the western swing group called The Light Crust Doughboys.
