Here are some of the prize-winning beeves in the 1940 South Plains Junior Fat Stock Show held at Lubbock; March 25-27, 1940. Shown here in the picture are a Calf and four people: The boy at the head of the calf is Billy Joe Payne., Nolan County 4-H boy and his county agent R. B. Tate. Third from the right is W. L. Stangel, head of the animal husbandry department of Texas Technical University and at left is Wade Winston, of Snyder.
