Here are some of the prize-winning beeves in the 1940 South Plains Junior Fat Stock Show held at Lubbock; March 25-27, 1940. Shown here in the picture is Chesley Hobgood, Future Farmers of America (FFA) boy of Friendship School in Lubbock County and his calf that was bred by Len McClellan and was winner of the second prize in the junior class.
