Here are some of the prize-winning beeves in the 1940 South Plains Junior Fat Stock Show held at Lubbock; March 25-27, 1940. Shown here in the picture is Sammy Ares, of Slaton, and his calf that was one of the prize winners in the junior class and was bred by W. W. Brunson of Slaton.
